In this turbulent time of change, the tendency is for us is to hold back and wait to see what other people are going to do. Then we follow them. The transition point that we are in doesn’t provide us the luxury to wait. The times call us to take personal initiative to create impact.

This initiative should begin with your household and your community. Strengthening the social bond between neighbors is essential when civic unrest and the loss of social institutions happen. It is now your time to be a person of impact. You don’t have to be political about it. But you do have to work for the strengthening of the structures of your community.

A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to speak to business students at Utah Valley University. I share my presentation with the hope that it will inspire you to take some action to become a person of impact. This is how you can begin to be a person of impact who is strengthening your community.
